Bodegas Fos Baranda 2017
Fos Baranda ticks all the boxes of a modern expressive Rioja, using very old vines, hand picked and sorted grapes, aging using both egg shaped concrete amphorae and for 14 months in French Oak barrels. The resulting wine is a high scoring Rioja with deep fruit, integrated oak and fine balance. It displays complex aromas,spice, hints of liquorice, balsamic and sweet tones of cocoa and toffee. Bodegas FOS Rioja Reserva
IMPORTANT. Bodegas Fos stopped producing their Reserva after the 2013 Vintage and ceased their Crianza after the 2016 Vintage. Supply of both wines are now exhausted. The revamped Red wine range now runs as follows: Fos Maceration Carbonica, an unoaked lunchtime Rioja. Fos Saltavinas, a mid-point rioja with oak aging between a crianza and a reserva. Fos Baranda, their signiture wine using the best grapes and with aging beyond that of their old Reserva. Bodegas FOS Rioja Reserva Magnum
The intense garnet red Bodegas FOS Reserva is an Author wine made from selected grapes (85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano) gathered from 60 to 65 year old vines. After vinification, it is aged in French and American oak barrels for twenty months and another fourteen months in bottle.
