The family-owned,multi-award winning Shingleback Winery is located in the McLaren Vale where the climate is similar to the Mediterranean or the southern Rhone, but moderated by sea breezes which allow the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, giving them the fine flavours and structure that define McLaren Vale wines. A small portion of softening Semillon was included in the blend, to aid the development of complexity and structure in the medium-bodied Shingleback Red Knot Chardonnay with its alluring primary aromas of lime zest, orange blossom and honeydew melon that are interlaced with a soupson of creamy cashew notes. Complex flavours of peach and melon, flow over a deliciously textured palate leading into a long, fresh, zesty finish. This is a cracking crowd-pleaser of a wine, suitable for any occasion.
