Health and safety
Take care when lifting or, if appropriate, remove the bottles individually. Wine delivered by the case is roughly the following weight.
6 bottle case is approx. 8 kg -10kg depending
12 bottle case is approx: 16 kg-20 kg depending on the weight of the glass bottle .
Wine contains alcohol of differing quantities. The alcohol can vary from consignment to consignment. Please take time to study the alcohol by volume content of the individual bottle. This will be clearly marked on the bottle and sometimes may vary from that shown on this website. Drink responsibly at all times. We recommend you do not drive, or operate machinery at all, if you have consumed, or are planning to consume wine.
All wine contains sulphites. Some wines may have other allergens such as Milk (Lactose) Eggs, Fish, Nuts or cereals (gluten). If you have an allergy to any of these things please refer to the label on the bottle.
Do not drink wine if you are pregnant or are on certain medication. Please refer to you Doctor if this is a concern.
We also recommend that wine is best consumed at meal times and that water is always available as an alternative.
Drink your wine responsibly.

Secure payments
We use secure encrypted servers with Secure Server Layer (SSL) technology to handle your credit/debit card transactions with us.
For your security and peace of mind we store no credit card details. This does mean entering your details each time you make a purchase. Let us know if you find this an inconvenience (contact us box). We will review this regularly.
Out of stock
If we are out of stock of a particular wine, we will substitute it on your order with a wine of similar characteristics and equal (or higher) value. We will do this automatically up to 3 bottles per 12 ordered without notifying you.
Higher quality wines are only produced in finite quantities, due to restrictions in geography where certain wines can be produced. When demand outstrips supply of a certain vintage, supply becomes exhausted and that wine no longer is available. Usually we can take these wines off sale from the website. However, in the event that this is not the case we will contact you if this affects more than 25% of your order. If it is under 25% (3 bottles in 12 or less) we will substitute with a similar wine, as described above.

Keeping wine
Wine is a food product and needs to be stored at a constant cool temperature. Ideally, you should store red wine between 52-60 degrees centigrade. For white wines, store at a slightly lower temperature, at around 40-50 degrees. Wine will keep fine for short periods at warmer temperatures, for example whilst in transit, however make sure your wine is stored well away from the following heat sources: radiators, heating pipes, airing cupboards, ovens, direct sunlight and any other heat emitting appliance. If you need to chill the wine further prior to serving then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before drinking.
Most wines under £10 are best consumed within 12 months. If you have an enquiry about whether a wine is good for laying down please call us.

What do we do?:
We sell popular wines online to anywhere in the UK. Also we have a trade wine business selling quality and bespoke range to hotels and restaurants throughout the UK. Most of our wines are not sold via supermarkets, though sometimes crossover can occur.
Our customer promise:
Buying wine always has an element of risk to it. Even restaurants ask you to taste the wine before you buy a bottle. We try to reduce the risk for you and make it as easy as possible for you to try wine, discover wine and locate your favourites ordering by the case from our website. So here are a few principles we adopt.
Guarantees:
We sample every wine in our portfolio to assure you of quality. If you buy a case and a wine is not to your taste let us know and we’ll credit you back that particular bottle.
We’ll then arrange the return of the remaining 11 bottles in the original case and we’ll give you a full refund. (See also credits/refunds)
If you order the wrong wine, or simply change your mind, for whatever reason, email us on (Contact us Box) within 7 days of delivery, once it is safely returned we’ll give you a full refund excluding postage.
If the wine is broken or stolen we’ll replace them providing you notify us within 7 days. Please also refer to the Deliveries Section (Link), regarding theft.
All these guarantees are designed to help you buy wine from us in a risk free environment.
We do monitor returns, so if we feel that this offer of good faith is being abused then we reserve the right to terminate our agreement. In which case, after we have fulfilled our obligations, we will disable that account. Should you decide to re-subscribe and re-order from us then we reserve the right not to be bound by our full customer promise. This does not affect your statutory rights.
If you are a business, please refer to our trade Terms and Conditions http://www.hanchard-goodwin.co.uk/update/templarwines.com/trade-terms.asp
Wine descriptions and Vintages:
When detailing our wines we try to be as clear as possible in our descriptions. We’ll avoid using phrases like “This Rioja style wine” if the wine is not from Rioja.
If you think we have been ambiguous in our description of our wines, please let us know and we’ll make any appropriate amendments. If you purchased wine based on a misunderstanding of our description then let us know and we’ll arrange the wine’s return as described in “Guarantees” section above.
Our suppliers provide our published Alcohol by Volume (ABV) for each wine. Occasionally this will vary during a vintage and the wine you order may have a different ABV to that advertised on our website. Always refer to the bottle for the actual ABV before drinking. Vintages can change quickly and without notice on younger wines. As we deal directly with importers we will automatically substitute with the next available vintage. Please notify us at the time of ordering if the vintage is critical to your purchasing decision
